Learning Journeys International Center of Coaching has inspired me personally and professionally in more ways than I can express.  One way that stands out is the ethical approach that owners Ruth Godfrey and Jennie Antolak take in everything they do.  This high standard shows up in their Committed Ways of Being, the credo and foundation for how Learning Journeys is in relationship with everyone they encounter. Be Accountable and Speak Your Truth are two of the Ways of Being that are constant reminders to stand in integrity, honesty and authenticity in every situation.  This is not only practiced by Ruth and Jennie, but is taught and referenced  in all of the classes they teach and is included in the educational materials they use—which means that honesty, integrity and authenticity expands to many people in many situations.  What an ideal thing for our world!                                                           -Dawn Morningstar, Graduate

Eight years ago I was first introduced to Ruth and Jennie and their school of Life Coaching (Learning Journeys International).   From the start I was intrigued by their way of being (Open, Listening, Hospitality – Giving full attention to each person they receive).

The summer of 2002, I took the Inquiry Class and heard the word “Integrity”.  I think that is one of the biggest words in our English language.  Even though the dictionary says it’s a noun, it came alive for me as a verb.

Experiencing Jennie and Ruth gave me the inspiration to develop the muscle of Integrity.  I would never have continued my Coaching training if Integrity was not lived out in everything they did and said.

I have since completed my mastery certification in Coaching and created a Minnesota non-profit entitled To Bear Witness that serves the disadvantaged in our community.

Integrity creates the ripple of change in society.  Ruth and Jennie are not just about business but about the business of helping others to live Big, all the while conveying to me a belief in the dignity of the person.

In 2009, I received the Coaches Choice award on behalf of the ICC Leadership Council and Learning Journeys International Center of Coaching.   The inscription on the award “We feel privileged to share in your commitment and the stand you have taken ensuring the well being and vitality of all people” speaks to the Integrity that Jennie and Ruth live by.

Jennie and Ruth have created a business that is sound, whole, honest and true.  The noun Integrity is alive and well because of Jennie and Ruth’s willingness to not only tell but show what it means “To live with Integrity”.                                                                                                        –Margaret Ganje, Graduate

Dear Jennie,
It was a treat to have you share your perspective on Setting and Communicating Performance Expectations. Your information was valuable, very thought provoking and useful. I believe there is great value in bringing professionals in from outside our organization for all those reasons
meantioned above.

Thank you for contributions to making Fairview Southdale Hospital a great place for employees to work, Physicians to practice and patients to receive care.

Respectfully,
Cathy

University of Minnesota

We currently are partnering with the University of Minnesota to help international students improve cultural adjustment, campus engagement, and academic success. We are providing a program that includes group coaching, leadership opportunities, resources, scholarships and more to assist students in living happy, healthy lives. This initiative is called Culture at the Core and it is positive, motivating and fun. To learn more about the program go to the Coaching Blog page.

We are utlizing the Just for Me Wellness program with our students.  The Spring 2010 semester students experienced a 12% increase in their wellbeing!!!

Student Quote:  I now shift my perspective and have a more positive attitude when coping with stressful events.  I seek help from my support network.  I put more attention on my relationships instead of carrying all the burdens along.  I play, I exercise, I dance...my stress is largely reduced because I'm engaged in my physical activities this semester.  I never exercised and danced before this semester.  I was an "indoor" person and was not confident at all.  This program transformed me!

St. Catherine University

UnitedHealthcare StudentResources Initiatives in College Mental and Behavioral Health awarded us a grant to provide coaching to students at St. Catherine University.  We called our program The Soul of Resilience: Strengthening Students’ Ability to Deal with Stress Through Life Coaching.  It was an interdisciplinary initiative that provided students with the coping skills and resiliency needed to better manage stress and thereby improve academic success and overall wellness.

The program was a success.

·         I am able to listen to self and others and feel comfortable showing up just how I am

·         I don't get nervous any more-I know everything is okay

·         I am more thoughtful-I remind myself that I can do this-step-by step, try and see
