There are a wide variety of definitions for what coaching is and how it is used. The one we find effective and embrace begins with the belief that coaching is a partnership relationship. The client is the expert in their life. They have the answers within them. We are simply there to ask questions that take them below the surface so that they can source answers that have meaning and will motivate them to embrace change. We do this by raising the client's awareness of how they are responding to themselves and the world around them. We connect them to their values so their steps align with who they are and who they are becoming. And, we champion them towards their goals so that they don't lose energy or sight of where they are headed.
We have five underlying beliefs that are at the heart the coach-client relationship.

Transformation occurs when the client's awareness is heightened, alternative perspectives are explored and a conscious path of action is taken. This emerges in its own time and own way. It cannot be rushed, predetermined, or guided in a certain direction. When the client is allowed to choose how, when and what for him or herself it becomes part of who they are not just another task to complete.
